Aileron is an operating foundation founded by Clay Mathile, former owner of The Iams Company, and is a manifestation of his deeply-rooted passion for free enterprise. Clay hopes Aileron can help business owners pursue their dreams and, in the process, create jobs, provide a better standard of family life, give to the community and fuel economic growth.

The Aileron campus was built with an emphasis on minimizing the
impact to the local infrastructure, preserving natural resources and
creating a healthy and productive work environment.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) developed the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System. A building is evaluated on five USGBC categories before receiving certification.

Those categories include:

• Sustainable site

• Water efficiency

• Energy and atmosphere

• Materials and resources

• Indoor environmental quality

Participation in the certification process is voluntary, and because of the elements required for certification, LEED buildings typically cost less to operate and maintain. While initial building costs are significantly higher than a standard building, Aileron believes the long-term impact is worth the investment. Our energy consumption is 45-50% less than a comparable traditionally-built building. With less chemical emissions from materials and substances, the building is healthier and safer for occupants.

Please register no later then Friday, October 23rd so we may have enough food ordered.

Hope to see you there!

There are four levels of certification within LEED: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and LEED certification. Aileron is Gold Certified.
