Strategic Facility Planning Now for Later
Mark Sekula, Kurt Neubek
In this time of economic downturn, it is difficult to think about strategic planning. Most everyone’s focus is on surviving the storm. Maybe you would be doing things differently now if a few years ago you asked yourself a few questions like; “What if the global economy fell apart six months from now? What if all of a sudden national unemployment teetered near 10%? What if my company’s revenues fell off 25% or more in a matter of months? What would I do?” This is exactly why strategic facility planning is so important.
Recently, IFMA published the “Strategic Facility Planning White Paper”. It describes the process of strategic facility planning and provides facility managers with a comprehensive tool for them to use. This I-Session will elaborate on this process giving attendees a thorough understanding of it and equip them to be able to immediately start their own strategic facility planning process.
Learning Objectives:
- Give attendees a clear understanding of the strategic facility planning process
- It will teach FM’s how to tie the strategic facility plan to their organization’s strategy
- It will demonstrate to FM’s the need to continually stay in touch with senior management and revisit the plan as their organization’s business initiatives change.
